Asian Achiever of the Year 2005
![]() | In the Asian Achievers Awards 2005, organised by Asian Voice magazine, Navin won the award in the public services category for his work as a Harrow Councillor. On receiving his award Navin said “I am deeply honoured. I would like to dedicate this award to the diverse community of Harrow. It is the people of Harrow who have inspired me in everything that I do and stand for. I have been privileged to have had the opportunity to work for and with Harrow’s community over the past 25 years and hope that I have contributed to the strong partnership working and cohesion we have achieved in our community. My commitment has always been, and remains, to serve the people of Harrow to achieve a better quality of life for all. The award was presented to me by a representative of the Metropolitan Police and I take this opportunity to commend the commitment of London’s dedicated police force, who have served us extremely well." |
NVA Certifcate of Honour
In April 2004 Navin was awarded a Certificate of Honour by The National Council for Vanik Association UK for his achievement in politics and his record of public service. The Certificate of Honour states: "Navin Shah has been active member of the Harrow Labour Party since 1997, and was elected to Harrow Council in 1994. He is currently Deputy Leader of the Council. Through his political roles, as well as his involvement with the voluntary sector, he has played an important role in promoting racial harmony. As a believer that people from ethnic minorities must take an activie role in all walks of public life and so improve their representation in the political sector, Councillor Shah has led by example."

The Certificate awarded to Navin in November 2004 states: "We congratulate you for your achievements in the fields of political, social and cultural activities.
